Currently, when choosing the TIFF compression settings (the "Image Saving Options" window) in the "Compression" item, only the following options can be selected:
No Compression
LZW (Lempel-Ziv & Welch)
JPEG DCT
Macintosh PackBits RLE
Deflate compression
Please add the ability to save images to TIFF using ZIP compression.

an algorithm producing Deflate files was widely thought to be implementable in a manner not covered by patents. This led to its widespread use. For example, in (…) the ZIP file format for which Katz originally designed it.

So, this isn't an "Enhancement" question, but a "UX & Usability" one.
Perhaps you should rename "Deflate compression" to "Deflate (ZIP)"?
I appreciate the attention to detail, but I cannot say this will be changing.
While "zip" is indeed "Technically Correct" (The best kind of correct), "Compression" is not inaccurate on its own. Zip is a type of compression and so a change here is unnecessary. If anything, this terminology is more open ended and less prone to misunderstandings for the vast majority of users - as Compression is becoming a more well known term over time.
