[suggestion] Add a sort submenu to the context menu of the "Choose Input Files" window

Post by Jensen Head »

Currently, sorting is only possible in the "Details" display mode.

Hello Jensen Head,

Even with a very narrow "choose input files" dialogue - I still have the "move up/move down" buttons on my end:

And I can also drag and drop documents around the window (in both Details and Thumbnails views), and this correctly changes the order of the documents for me.

You should be, but can you please confirm that you are using the current latest PDF-Tools build (359)?

Kind regards,
Stefan

Stefan, I also have these buttons:

But in the first post I meant only automatic sorting, not manual drag and drop. Like here:

Hello, Jensen Head

Even in the details view, we do not offer sorting via any context menus, only with the headers above each column. These same headers do not display any information in the thumbnail view, and so the files appear unsorted (in the order which windows provided them to us). Ideally, if you need to do any sorting, you should use the details view.

At least in PDF-Tools 10.8.4, build 409 the problem is solved:

Thank you for fulfilling my humble request!
