Hello
I want to merge a lot of PDFs into one document
Because of the documents are named after austrian villages, the names in the directory looks like this:
Absdorf
Gneixendorf
Göttlesbrunn
Michelstetten
Mödling
Öhling
Ollersdorf
and so on (literally thousands of documents).
But when I add the files with "add directory" the sorting is wrong.
It sorts A-Z, Ö - but I neet to tread the umlauts like the regular letters. So Ö = O.
Is there a possibility to change the sorting algorythm in the preferences?
Second question is_
When merging document with "add folder" and there are subfolders, I would like to have the Bookmarks grouped after the foldernames.
Like:
Folder A
--> contains Folder A.1
Folder A.2
Folder B
---> Folder B.1
---> Folder B.2
After merging I would like to have this Bookmark structure:
A
-A.1
---Dokument1
---Dokument2
-A.2
---Dokument1
---Dokument2
B
-B.1
---Dokument1
---Dokument2
-B.2
---Dokument1
---Dokument2
But it adds only the filenames...
Thanks for responding
Martin

Re: Namesorting on PDF merge
Hello, waldviertler
I am just waiting for a reply from the dev team on the first question, I will come back and post here again if there is a way to do so. Unfortunately, to my knowledge there is currently no way to sort them as you need automatically, but you can manually doublecheck and re-organize these items within the dialog for manual split/merge: As for the second question, this is not something which we offer at this time, but it is something that the Dev team is looking into. We have an active ticket for the request, which i have added your support for.
#6208: FR: Add top level bookmarks by folder/subfolder with split/merge
While I cannot promise a timeline or implementation yet, I can assure you that it is being considered for the future.
Kind regards,

Re: Namesorting on PDF merge
Thank you!!
I have seen, that when I add the files manually the sorting algorithm of the OS takes place.
Only when adding the files with the directory method, the sorting is not ok.
Best regards
Martin
