Link to a Page in Another Document not working properly

I realized that the Link feature set with an Action List to open Another Document with a Named Destination do not seems to work properly.
Indead, with an older version (do not remember but should be the active one during december 2021) it was working properly (I made those links at that time) and with current 9.4 build 363.0, it's not.
The external document is opened but the Named destination (position and zoom) are not considered, the document is opened where it was last time, when closed.
In my company, the standard tool is Kofax PDF and opening those links with it are working as expected.

Thank you for the screenshot, The issue you are seeing is caused by this option:

As you said, it only happens with document you have opened in the past, This option forces any document which you have opened in the past (any that are present in the "recents" list) to restore the last used settings and view location when you open it again, in any way.

If you uncheck this, the file opened from a link will navigate to the link location.

I understand and I tried: you're right by unchecking this box, it works as expected.
But, to be honest, it doesn't make sense to me that a named destination with a specific page do not override this setting.

I just tried with version 9.2.359 and even if the checkbox is checked, it behaves correctly:
-Opening the file (part of recent files list) display the content when the file was closed (page + zoom)
-Clicking the hyperlink with named destination override the setting and properly jump to the right page

Please could you investigate on your side and raise a bug fix, accordingly ?

You make a good point here. I will ask the development team their thoughts on this as I suspect this is the intended behaviour and that the previous behaviour was considered the bug.

Let me get the details on that and get back to you.

Hi Paul,

I hope that the feature in Build 359 will be restored, too. As I have gone back through the builds one by one and have confirmed that Build 359, as indicated by Sinaptik, is the last build in which this feature works properly.

Apologies for the misunderstanding, you are correct, this does appear to be a mistaken change, or a bug. I have created a formal ticket to track this issue for you, and Paul is in the midst of speaking to the Dev team to see this resolved in good time.

I am grateful for your great effort and support.

As a user who frequently links to external documents with named destinations, I have been forced to turn off the Restore option for a long time, and have long wondered how this issue has been handled since then. I am glad that my comment was somewhat worthwhile. May the peaceful days return to the world as soon as possible.
