Hi,
my activated licence shows me 'maintanence expired'. Is it normal, that Editor reverts to demo mode?
It is no problem to buy a new licence but I haven't seen this in the past as it always took some time for me to recognize the expired maintanence (always if I am looking for an update).

In the meantime I think it possible, that my anti vir software initiated an automatic update of the Editor (what I don't like anyway) after the maintenance key has expired.
May that be the possible reason for the unexpected?

This is exactly the reason. Your product was updated to an unsupported by your license version.
