Sessions and Recent Files No Longer Saving

Post by brody-xr3 »

Hi,

Since Friday my sessions have not been saving after restart. Same thing with recent files.

Also, when this condition first began, I saw the toolbar seem to reset itself. I ran this repair ( https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?t=35538 ) recovering data from the ntuser.dat file.

That fixed my toolbar, and recovered one, curiously unclickable, 14-document session. Since then, session and recent files haven't been getting recoded after restart.

Sincerely,

BXR

Hello, brody-xr3

Sessions and Toolbar settings are both stored in your registry files. If these are not saving or are being reset, it would indicate that either the software is not being closed properly, or there is a third party app reverting/preventing registry changes.

Please ensure that when you are done with the software, you are using the close button in the application window, not leaving the application open to be force closed by windows when you shut down.

As for third party apps, do check that your security software, or other apps are not set to have an effect on the following locations:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Tracker Software
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tracker Software
