Freezing when making new PDF from Thumbnail

PD-XChange Editor version 9.4.363.0

Open a multi-page PDF, open Thumbnails pane on left, then drag a page from the thumbnails up into a new tab. The program will freeze with a spinning blue wheel and title bar updating to show (Not Responding) usually for 10 seconds, sometimes 30 seconds. In fact, it takes longer to do this than it is to open the file in the first place!

This will occur whether or not the file is saved on a network drive or saved locally on a high speed SSD, and it doesn't matter what computer or user in our environment does this, so it's pretty reproducible. The only commonality or difference I can see is the ones that it does this on are scans vs text PDFs, so PDF pages that are image scans from a scanner/copier will do it.

thanks for the post and report.

I am attempting to reproduce the issue with a 507 page document that I "rasterized", but it is allowing me to instantly make a new copy of a page by dragging the thumb as described.

Are you seeing this on all PDFs or only certain ones? Do you have a sample file that we may have that reliably does this for you? I am keen to test here.

So I was further curious, I tested other parts of the offensive PDF that were not raster images, it still froze up temporarily. So I deleted all of the pages except one, tested, same issue, so I added a random PNG file that is unrelated to the file, removed all of the original images, and it still exhibits this behavior, so I do have a file that's been scrubbed that you may use for testing. Where should I submit a file to? (Just in case there is metadata or unremoved sensitive data, I don't want to publish it on a public forum.) Thanks!
