Bold and italic when clicking on typewriter comment

Post by MedBooster »

This might also apply to other text comments like callout and text boxes.

You actually have to double click on it and do ctrl+A for example, in order to then be able to do ctrl+B or ctrl+I to make it bold or italic.

Well , wouldn't it be nice if it was enough to click once, for you to then press ctrl+B or I to change the style of everything in that comment.

Just a suggestion. As illustrated in my screenshot, if I do Ctrl+B when having it selected like this it does nothing.

Similarly;
is there a way to make all the characters appear capitalized (CAPS on) without having to retype everything?

Hello MedBooster,

Those types of objects are compound/complex items in the PDF specification.
You have the object with attributes like border, tansparency, background colour etc, and then inside you have the text with all the text related properties like font, size, bold, italic.

So you need to get to the text selection stage - which requires a double click, before you can apply new style to the text itself. As a single click selected the "outer" object of the annotation.

Kind regards,
Stefan
