Feature Request: Name Single Page
Yes, we can number ranges of pages but I would like to have the facility of naming single pages in a file. I would like this to be alpha-numeric, as well. I would like this to be displayed in the thumbnail panel. I do not think it is necessary to show it in the Page window in the lower active window border; just the page number would suffice there. As users now can insert apha characters in the Prefix window of the Page Numbering feature, I would hope is is not too much of an engineering leap to be able to label single pages.

Hello, PHK
I am unsure what exactly it is you are requesting, naming a single page is most certainly already possible, simply create a new page range ending after that page (in my example below I split page 1 away from the rest of the document, and rename it to "A"): Is this not what you are looking for? It seems to be based on your description.
Kind regards,

Thank you, Daniel. Yes, I guess it is what I was looking for. Please excuse my blind spot.TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 3:22 pm ...Is this not what you are looking for? It seems to be based on your description...
As far as I'm concerned, you can mark this either "Solved" or delete the whole thread.
But having a single-click UI choice to do this wouldn't be horrible, would it?

Re: Feature Request: Name Single Page
OK, now I want to UNSOLVE this.
I would like the new name association to be "sticky", that is, if the page moves, the assigned name moves with it. Or if other pages are moved in the stack, the name moves with the page, which is not the case now.

Hello, PHK
Are you certain about that? It seems to be working just fine for me in the current release. Would it be possible for you to record a Gif or Video showing me what you see when moving pages?
Kind regards,

Re: Feature Request: Name Single Page
No, I am absolutely confused.
If I set up a test file like yours I get the same performance as you. However, on a Real World file that I am working on, I don't. When I delete earlier (lower-numbered, with no customization) pages, the earlier page range shrinks but leaving named pages where they were. So, the "prefix" is "sticking" to the page number, not the content of the page. I don't get why I get these two differing results.

Re: Feature Request: Name Single Page
I am able to reproduce.
This is my page numbering set-up
This is the example
If I delete 3 'early' pages, I get this
Sorry, 2nd box should say "stayed here".
Ta-daaaa.

Hello, PHK
Thank you for the screenshots, I see the same here, and have created a formal bug report, as well as directly informed the Dev team.

Re: Feature Request: Name Single Page
As I understand that it can take some time for devteam to actually implement this fix, I have come up with a work-around for deleting pages that are 'earlier' than pages I have named without disrupting those names. I have taken my cue from your GIF, Daniel, where you illustrated moving named pages around the file stack. Therefore and until this is fixed, I will MOVE the pages I want deleted to the bottom of the page stack (the high-numbered end) and then harmlessly delete them from there.

Re: Feature Request: Name Single Page
I would still like a single-click UI to assign a name to a single page, though.

Hello, PHK
I am glad to hear you have found a workaround, though that does seem cumbersome, so I do hope you do not need to use it for long and that this can be resolved quickly.
Regarding the single click rename function, the Dev team will be considering it when they look this over, but I cannot promise a change at this time.
Kind regards,

Re: Feature Request: Name Single Page
It's not really that cumbersome. I have assigned the hot-key [alt-M] to the Move Pages function and, after the move takes place, the pre-selected pages stay selected so an immediate simple click on the Delete keyboard key finishes them off without disrupting the page naming.TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 3:35 pm ... a workaround, though that does seem cumbersome...
