Ctrl-Shift-D is not bringing up the 'Delete Pages' dialogue box.

Post by tkickham@sdf-law.com »

Since I updated to Ver 9.4, build 364.0 the Ctrl-Shift-D key combination is not bringing up the 'Delete Pages' dialogue box. I checked the Customize Toolbars / Commands section and that key combination is listed as a shortcut for that command.
What can I do to get that shortcut back? Thank you.

Hello, tkickham@sdf-law.com

Might I ask if the document you have opened is secured or otherwise locked? This window will not appear if the file has security preventing actions like deleting pages, and would instead simply play a windows error noise when used.

If that is not the case, can you create a new document (Ctrl_N) and confirm for me if the same issue happens in that file as well, or if this seems to be specific to the file you have opened right now?

Kind regards,

This situation is present in countless documents, Alt-Z, D, Y-1, works fine in deleting pages. I have two computers sharing a keyboard and mouse on a USB switch, and the same problem is new on both computers. The second computer has version 8.0, build 336.0. I tried plugging in a different keyboard directly to the second computer and still the same result. I tried opening a new document, and still the same result. It occurs to me that some other program may have taken that key combination. If so, this is not a PDF-Xchange issue but do you have any idea how to identify what programs are using specific keyboard shortcuts?

Hello, tkickham@sdf-law.com

Unfortunately, I do not know of any way to easily detect which applications may be adsorbing keystrokes, The best I could suggest is disabling any background apps you have running (common offenders for items like this are automation tools like "autohotkey", or apps that apply overlays to other applications). Please do try disabling those one by one and then testing if this hotkey works in our software after each. This should lead you to find the app which is causing the problem.

I found it. Snagit (screen capture and editing program) was using the Ctrl-Shift-D combination so I changed its combination to Alt-Shift-D. The PDF-Xchange hot-key combination is working again. Thank you for your help.
