PDF-XChange Editor vs Viewer - Font Issue in PDF

Hello,

I came across a strange problem with a PDF I am receiving. When I open up the PDF in PDF-XChange Viewer there is some text in the top part of the PDF that is not displaying, but the rest of the PDF looks fine with the same kind of text. When I open up this PDF in PDF-Xchange Editor then all of the text shows. From what I can tell the text in the rest of the document matches the font type in the area that is missing.

Anyone ever had this issue where certain text is missing in the viewer but if you open it in the editor it displays it all? Any solutions or advice?

Considering that the Viewer is now 10 years discontinued, it is expected that it will have some issues which have been resolved in its successor, the Editor. I expect that the font in use for those particular items is not actually the same as on the others, but simply has the same name. This often happens when fonts that are embedded are damaged, where a "subset" is embedded and later on is affected by some change to the document, resulting in errors with certain applications that do not know how to handle the issue.

The best I can suggest here is to open the file in the editor, select the problematic text, and change the font in use by that text to something that is present locally, such as "Arial" (If there are multiple "arial" fonts available, use the one which is the furthest down in the list). Then save the file and open it in the Viewer again, you will likely find that the text is now visible.
