Xviewer improves steadily, so please forgive the continuing demands.
Am I correct that the typewriter tool as of v. 1.20 has undergone only a partial implementation of its formatting features?
Being able to select typeface and size is already a big aid to me, so hurrah for that part. But I couldn't make it actually show Italics or Bold text, for example. Is it perhaps prevented by font attributes, or is that feature not quite finished?
Thanks,
Larry

Hi Larry,

Thank you. A very forthcoming reply, with a truthfulness borne out quickly in release 21.
The fonts can now be selected, as promised. Color is not selectable, which is a minor lack; mighl a choice of color ever be programmed?
The big annoyance remaining is that the font selection CONSTANTLY reverts to plain Arial. A stray mouse motion reverts it. It would be the greatest convenience if a chosen font would remain selected, at least during the present session, preferably forever until manually changed. As it is, inconsistencies in mark-up will inevitably creep in. Do you believe this could ever be implemented?

Hi,
1: Colour selection for fonts will be available in the next build
2: We will be adding the option to revise the default font in a future build as soon as possible
3: in 'text editor' toolbar when you can change the current font by 'mouse-wheel' button roll ... - sorry we cannot reproduce this - anyone else care to advise if they can ?
4: Could you expand a little more on 'A stray mouse motion reverts it'
Thanks

I think I overstated that.
Clicking to a new text position on the page reverts the font to Arial. Such a click is very easy to make by accident while working on a typewriter edit. This is not the fault of XChange Viewer, but of Windows convention and...well, you know...operator error.
Thanks again for your quick and assiduous attention. Sounds as if everything I needed is already contemplated.
