Comments view by default

When I open a pdf the bookmarks open on the left just fine. To get comments displayed I need to do a options->view->comments.

Is there anyway to make this the defaults?

Edit, Preferences, Initial View.

I'm using version 1 version 0034 and do not see that ability (see attached pic). I did look there.
