I have a large personal technical library that I access through a browser (tiddlywiki, for anyone who is interested). It displays the files such as PDFs within the browers. What this does that makes it invaluable to me is that I can open a PDF to a given page of interest within a document.
Sometimes I want to annotate (highlight, add a few notes or a box to draw attention to a passage). Edge has this limited functionality, but I'd really value being able to do this in a browser other than edge as it has other limitations. Is there any add-in or extension that is in the works that would allow a user to view and edit and then save the file locally from within a browser?
Editing PDFs from within browser

Re: Editing PDFs from within browser
Hello, amorrison
I am afraid that editing a PDF within a browser is no longer possible. Modern browsers have enabled security features that prevent plugins from offering the functions or features that a dedicated editing application can offer. As such, you will need to open this locally within our installed Editor in order to accomplish this.
Most solutions that are able to offer this now do so by hosting a server where they hold onto a copy of your document, and perform all the editing on their end, then save it and send it back to you, "pretending" to be something inside your browser, when really you are working remotely. We cannot offer this as it is highly insecure (and would cost an arm and a leg in server hosting fees), along with requiring a much larger team than we have available to both implement and maintain.
Kind regards,
