Good morning all,
In the Windows Explorer preview window,
you have the option of zooming using the toolbar at the bottom left or the combination of keyboard and mouse.
Now, if I have 2-3 Explorer windows open and, for example, I look at a file in the first window in Preview and zoom to 200%, the files are also displayed in all other preview windows with 200% zoom. The settings are always applied everywhere in the preview window.
Is there a setting or a possibility that the preview windows always show 100% or full screen first, no matter what was previously set for the zoom in another preview?
Thank you in advance for your suggestions
Kind regards
Xmedia

Re: Preview in Windows Explorer - zoom setting
Hi Xmedia,
you should be able to zoom each preview pane independently:
I assume you are seeing a different result. I will have to check with the team what controls that as it was just the default behaviour for me. I will get back with what I find out.
or is the issue that if I have Explorer Windows 1 at sat 10% Zoom, then launch a new instance of Explorer, it retains that 10% zoom instead of starting at 100%?
That I have reproduced. I don't think there is a setting to force the Preview Pane to start at a specific zoom level.

To me it seems like the last zoom-change in one window is applied to the other window from the moment that you change from document in that other window. There is no problem in applying different zoom-levels in two or more windows, for as long as you do not change from document.
Kind regards.

Yeah, that's what I was kind of trying to get at.
Each Window can have it's own zoom level, so to my mind it's not an issue the next instance of Explorer taking the last used zoom level considering is trivial to change to whatever zoom you want.

Re: Preview in Windows Explorer - zoom setting
Hello all,
Thank you for your answers.
Yes, the zoom setting can always be changed.
We are only trying to work with touch monitors in a large production to open various technical drawings.
Here it can be that you have everything from DIN A5 to DIN A0 format. Depending on the size of the project.
If you look at a certain detail on a DIN A0 plan, you have to zoom in a lot to see the detail you are looking for.
If I now open a second plan with DIN A5, at first I only see a white sheet
The zoom is then also as strong there.
For this reason, I asked if there is or will be a possibility to always display the first / basic view at, for example, 100% or in full screen.
I hope I could explain this understandably
Best Regards

Re: Preview in Windows Explorer - zoom setting
Hello, Xmedia
I understand what you mean, We will have to wait and see what the Dev team thinks and if this is implemented. Because you brought up touch devices, I should also mention that we do plan to add pinch zooming to the file explorer preview pane in a future update!
Kind regards,
