Sequence of pages wrong on print multiple pages per sheet

Post by toft »

When attempting to print multiple pages per sheet, in this case two pages, the order on each page is somehow reversed as shown in the example below. The page on top is the front page, but in this case one would want it to be at the bottom. I have tried playing around with ‘Page Order’ (vertical or horizontal, different versions of ‘Pager per Sheet’, but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Hello toft,

Welcome to our forums.
Please change the paper orientation to Landscape - and you will then have your pages ordered correctly:

Hello toft,

I would like to add to Paul's comment.

You might be wondering why, when Pages per Sheet is set to "1 by 2", the page order does not change regardless of which of the four Page Orders you select. The reason for this can be seen in the figure below. In the figure below, a total of 9 pages are set to "3 by 3".

When set to "1 by 2", you are looking at the area in the left half of the figure, which is marked with a light yellow. In contrast, when set to "2 by 1", you are looking at the right half of the figure, which is marked with a light green.

With "1 by 2", the order of the pages remains the same regardless of the setting, whereas with "2 by 1", you will notice that the order of the pages changes Reversed is selected. Therefore, Paul has casually set "2 by 1", but this is an important point in realizing your wish.

Of course, when "1 by 2" or "2 by 1" is set, the page order is different from when "3 by 3" is set. I couldn't think of a better explanation, so I just used "3 by 3" for the sake of explanation.

The above comments are for a case where Page Order is set to "2 by 1" and Page Orientation is set to "Landscape".

If the number of pages is even, you can still achieve the same results as you want by enabling "Reverse Order" in Pages at the upper left of the Print dialog and then enabling "Reverse" at the lower right of the dialog, even if Page Order is set to "1 by 2" and Page Orientation is set to "Portrait".

Hoping that the above information will be of some help to you.

Best regards,
rakunavi
