AIP encryption update is coming soon, Is PDF Xchange editor ready for it?

Post by sungsteel »

Dear sir,

This is Sungsteel, and I'm in charge of IT security at my company.
My company emplyee like PDF Xchange editor, because it is easy and light and compatible with MS AIP PDF.

And I heard that MS will update AIP encryption type soon. so I have already test it but Lastest PDF Xchange editor
did not support it. (I could not open New AIP encryption PDF file with latest).

So Please be ready for this AIP update, in order that my company emplyee will like your product more long time.

Here is MS AIP encryption update source.
Please refer it to your lastest version

MS AIP update information:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/encryption?view=o365-worldwide

it will be upated at In late August 2023

**Microsoft 365 Crypto Update**
In late August 2023, Microsoft Purview Information Protection will begin to use Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with 256-bit key length in Cipher Block Chaining mode (AES256-CBC). By October 2023, AES256-CBC will be the default for encryption of Microsoft 365 Apps documents and emails. You may need to take action to support this change in your organization. For more information, see Technical reference details about encryption.

Hello sungsteel,

Thanks for your post!
I am sure our developers are aware of that and working on an update for our own products.
I will check with them now to confirm that they will indeed include updates so that newer AIP files are supported as soon as possible!

Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello again sungsteel,

Just got a confirmation that our devs have already done the necessary changes to support the new AIP encryption, and we are planning a new build early in August, so the support for this new encryption will be there when you need it!

Kind regards,
Stefan

Dear sir,

I'm very impressed your quick response for MS encryption update.
And I have one more question about it.
In my company, so many people use your product, so they will have some inconvenience after this update.
(They need to re install PDF Xchange editor, and someone may can not open PDF AIP docu file until reinstall new version)

So If there is some patch for this encyption update (for pdf xchange editor 9.5), many people love your product.
Furthermore, patch file which have no message will make people feel convenient.

I will wait your reply

Best regards.

Hello sungsteel,

I am afraid that we can not retrospectively add patches to older builds, and you will have to update to the newer one to apply the update.

Kind regards,
Stefan
