[suggestion] Use F2 to rename the selected tool
Currently, as I understand it, there is no quick way to rename a tool other than to go into its editing mode.

Re: [suggestion] Use F2 to rename the selected tool
Hello Jensen Head,
That is a 1 click more, and you would usually only need to change a Tool's name when you are also making other modifications to it - so you would be in Edit mode anyway. I will pass this suggestion to our devs, but I really do not see this as too much of an issue, and adding a quick rename option will just add to the complexity of the PDF Tools.
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: [suggestion] Use F2 to rename the selected tool
I use tool editing only in half of the cases of renaming a tool. In other cases, it is related to the ordering of the created tools.
Even though the GUI often forces exclusive use of the mouse, I try to use the keyboard whenever possible. Perhaps this can be considered one of the forms of disabilities, congenital or age-related.
To rename using current methods, you need to perform the following sequence of actions (with the tool selected):
1. [M/K] Right-click.
2. [M/K] Select Edit.
3. [a new window will appear]
4. [M] Click on the name.
5. [K] Type a new name (the name input field is not highlighted in any way; at least in the dark theme).
6. [M/K] Press Save Changes / Ctrl + S.
The first and second points can be shortened to keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [E], but I often have to use this combination for the middle alignment function or for focus on the search bar in Mozilla Firefox.
Above, I suggested shortening this sequence to the following:
1. [K] Press F2 (The tool name will turn into an editable field with selected text, just like when renaming files and folders in Windows File Explorer).
2. [K] Type a new name.
3. [K] Press Enter.
So, I have to disagree, it's not exactly "1 click more".

Re: [suggestion] Use F2 to rename the selected tool
Hello Jensen Head,
Just got a confirmation that we will add a simple rename to the F2 key.
I do not have a time frame yet, but it should be added relatively soon.
Kind regards,
Stefan
