How to change settings of Edit content tool

Hi everyone,

i have some issues with edit function. Last time i remember, i could select some objects just by partially selecting it, now it seems to be impossible. Can anyone tell me how to change it?

I've upload one video which shows the matter of this issue. I want to archive what you can see at the end of the video. Any suggestions?

We have several Licenses in our company, on one of the PCs it still working as we want it to, but i can't find difference between settings on both of the PCs...

Maybe there is a difference in the Edit-settings (All Content / Edit Text Elements as Blocks) ?

Export settings from a good working computer and Import these settings on the bad working ?

This does not seem to be related to text, but to shapes, so those options should not have an effect. Moving on past that, If I recall correctly, we had a feature request a while back to implement a selection mode where dragging a box upwards would select anything it touches, while dragging downwards would only select items fully encased. I am unsure if that was fully implemented at this time, but in my tests here it seems to be working that way.
What strikes me as odd is that the video above does not seem to have this behaviour working. Stark07, are you fully up to date and running 9.5.368.0 at the moment? If not, please do try updating the software to see if that helps. Beyond that, if you could send us a copy of your file to test with, that would be very helpful.

Well, i've tried some things and none of them is really working.

At frist i've tried to update the software, it doesn't solve the problem.
Then, i've tried to take over the settings (export from working one to my PC) - it doesn't working

Version on the other, working PC - 9.2, build 359.0

Hi all,

I ran some tests with the "example.pdf".

To me, it seems like the behavior for the selection of "Shapes" in PDF-XChange Editor has changed starting from build 360.

Build 359 still works like desired by stark07.

Thank you for the sample and investigation. I was able to reproduce this and have passed it along to the Dev team. I expect that this is a side effect of selection method changes, the hard cutoff at build 360 when we made those changes definitely plays to that tune. Hopefully we can improve this for the future. In the meantime, if this is a major issue for you, continuing to use build 359 would be the best workaround I can offer.

If you have a license covering that particular build, you can find a download link for it by using the "previous builds" link's to each product here (please ensure that you look at the previous builds for the product which you hold a license for, as previous builds are only available to license holders with maintenance covering those versions):

thanks for your advice, i did it already and it worked, but i would love to use new features too and as long as i have to use the old version (because of that one missing function) i can't really enjoy it.... and that's why i asked if this issue is solved in the lastest version or not, because i dont want to buy mainteance (updates) if i wont use it. And IF it would be solved, i could buy some licenses for my office.

We have a ticket now, which was made in another similar thread, I will paste that number below so you can use it to ask us for updates in the future. Hopefully it is not too long a wait for a resolution, but for now, you will likely want to remain in the older version.

quite some time ago you named a ticket RT:6524. Is there any progress on that?
Is somewhere a list of all tickets and if they are solved or not? Or should i ask every time here about any progress? Currently i dont have any subscription, but i would buy one to get an update, if the problem is solved.

I am afraid that there is no new information tied to this ticket at the moment. It is still "in progress" which means the Dev team has not flagged it as a stalled item, likely they are making gradual improvements and will only mark it resolved when they feel it is complete.
