Why does the context text break into individual lines? Is it possible to keep it as a single object?

Why does the context text break into individual lines? Is it possible to keep it as a single object?
I inserted the above text at one time using the "Insert Text Tool" but after I exit the typing field, when I attempt to move the text box using the "Context Text Selection Tool" I end moving a line at a time
Why does this happen? Is there a setting to force it to keep the entire text as a single text box?
Also how do you group two objects so that I can move them as one? I tried using the Group (Group The selected Objects) command hotkey but it does not work. Is this command intended for use with comment objects or base content?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello GaryAtlan82,
rakunavi
By pressing the Edit Text button, you can select and move text in blocks. This is just like enabling "Edit Text Elements as Blocks" in versions up to 9.5 (build 368). The operation of moving text after pressing the Edit Objects button as shown in your video corresponds to the operation with "Edit Text Elements as Blocks" disabled in the previous version. I recommend that you check the content pane to make sure that the text is stored line by line.GaryAtlan82 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 4:11 pm I inserted the above text at one time using the "Insert Text Tool" but after I exit the typing field, when I attempt to move the text box using the "Context Text Selection Tool" I end moving a line at a time

As noted above, there is no need to use these commands for the purpose you describe. I would have to ask support to know exactly how these commands work, but it might be an unimplemented feature at this time. However, seeing that the commands can be pressed when a comment is selected, but not when the base content is selected, I would imagine that grouping and ungrouping functions for comments are planned.GaryAtlan82 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 4:11 pm Also how do you group two objects so that I can move them as one? Aha! Now I understand much better. Thank you so much for thoroughly explaining this to me.
Regarding your last point and image:
If so, are you able to add new entries because of Javascript? I would love to know more about this, if you dont mind. Thanks again.

It looks like you are able to define a custom entry of a command in the hotkey editor window. Is that correct? I was under the impression you could not add any new entries into that list, only change the hotkeys.I think this is the same situation as the JavaScript code snippet feature that is currently listed in the command list, although it is not implemented at this time.

Hello GaryAtlan82,
rakunavi
I don't know the details either. So far, you can open up to the following dialog, but beyond that it doesn't seem to work. Stefan mentioned a while ago that it had not yet been implemented. Daniel also recently commented that 'we have been looking at methods to contain and offer "confirmed safe/useful user-created JS tools" for easy access', perhaps with this feature in mind.GaryAtlan82 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 1:07 am It looks like you are able to define a custom entry of a command in the hotkey editor window. Re: Why does the context text break into individual lines? Is it possible to keep it as a single object?
This is a very much wellcome news for me, I was really let down recently when I concluded this sort of thing was beyond this program, as I use it in many other programs, custom code bound to a hotkey that is. So I am very pleased to see that work is being under taken to achieve this.rakunavi wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 1:56 am I don't know the details either. Looking forward to it sure.
Thanks for the explanation once again, I really appreciate it.
