Hi,
We have an ongoing issue with PDF XChange not being visible in SAP GUI preview function.
The fix is to go to File -> Preferences -> File Associations -> View PDF files in Internet Explorer -> Apply...
Then it tries to run the "C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Editor\PDFXEdit.exe" /runex "C:\users\LOCAL_~3\Temp\2\asads.tmp
After selecting Yes, the issue seems to be fixed.
Well, I found the tmp file there is this kind of .xml parameters set.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Params CmdID="SetFileAssociations" UserSID="xdlsd" AppPath="C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Editor\" DeleteCmdFile="1" OnlyCU="0" AssocPDF="1" Thumbnails="-1" Preview="-1" IE="1" NP="-1" AssocXCLPACK="-1" AssocXCESESSION="-1"/>
Can this be controlled with Group Policy somehow?

Re: View PDF files in Internet Explorer in SAP
Hi, pleino
that would be a changing mime type and the setting for it in the Windows Registry is outside of where the Editor keeps it's settings. That means we cannot enforce this setting if we wanted to. A policy could set it but not prevent it being changed by a third party.
The best I can offer is a Group Policy that will restore the mime type association on GPUpdate. If something does "steal" the association it will be restored without user interaction either next log in or scheduled GPUpdate.

We have a similar article for file extensions and associations: https://help.pdf-xchange.com/sysadmin/e ... olicy.html
I am keen to hear how that goes for you.
Kind regards,
