I found that the keyboard focus position after deleting an item in the Bookmarks pane and the Fields pane is different than in the other panes. It also seems to be different from the behavior in general Windows applications.
Specifically, after deleting an item in the Bookmarks pane and the Fields pane using the Delete key or the Delete icon, pressing the up and down arrow keys moves the keyboard focus to the top item displayed in the pane at that point. In contrast, in a typical Windows application, when you delete an item with the Delete key, the keyboard focus first moves to the next item after the deleted item, and then the up and down arrow keys move the keyboard focus based on that item.
In the following verification video, keyboard focus is set to the 25th item in each of the bookmarks pane, thumbnails pane, named destinations pane, fields pane, and links pane, and keyboard operations are performed in the following order.
- Delete key
- Down arrow key
- Delete key
- Up arrow key
In contrast, the behavior in the other panes is as follows
- Delete the 25th item. The keyboard focus is presumed to have moved to the 26th item, even though it is not visible.
- Press the down arrow key to move to the 27th item.
- Delete the 27th item. Similarly, the keyboard focus is presumed to have moved to the 28th item, although it is not visible.
- Pressing the up arrow key moves to the 26th item, since the 27th item has already been deleted.
Note that in Acrobat, after deleting an item with the Delete key in the Bookmarks pane, the keyboard focus is clearly displayed on the next item after the deleted item, so you can delete items consecutively by pressing the Delete key subsequently. For example, pressing the Delete key five times will delete five consecutive items. Personally, I think this is very intuitive, but unfortunately it does not work that way in PDF-XChange Editor.
Hoping that the above information will be of some help to you.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
Best regards,
rakunavi
