Indelible Annotations

Post by THunter »

I noted that Tracker provides custom programming. I am interested in using Track products to do the following (and wish to have a simple interface to accomplish it):

A. I want to annotate pdf's (and other documents) so that the annotations are part of the document (i.e. indelible signatures that cannot easily be removed without the underlying text, both to maintain the integrity of the document and to prevent providing recipients a freely copyable/transportable image of my signature). My goal is that the signature appear to be handwritten, and not separate from the document.
1. Signature/initials images (transparent background) from png/gif/etc
2. Sign Here, Initial Here, Look Here, etc. from png/gif/etc
3. Free Text notes, dates, etc.
B. I need to annotate "locked" pdf's, so in some cases would need to deal with a copy, in any case.

Proposed Approach: (Use Raster X to create an intermediate doc, which would then be annotated and then printed as a pdf.)
1. Print file (pdf, text, whatever) to raster image with Raster Xchange
2. Add annotations, including signatures and initials.
3. Print annotated document to pdf. The intended result is a document where the signatures & other annotations are an integral part of the pdf document.

Is this practical?

Hi,

Your best and cheapest bet is to hold off - the PDF-Xchange Viewer PRO will catch up with you soon.

You will then be able to :

1: Flatten the PDF - making it image based
2: Add an image based Signtaure
3: Mark-up as required.

Hope that helps
