Hi,
There is a room for improvement with PDFXCE scrolling performance.
I don't know what rendering or caching technology Xodo PDF uses but scrolling feels very smooth (like 60 FPS) compared to PDFXCE. I mean PDFXCE is also smooth but not as Xodo when using the same file.
Seems like Xodo prioritizes smooth scrolling over immediate clarity which is giving a very smooth experience. You can notice a small rendering delay when zooming with Xodo but is not a big deal.
In order to reproduce what I mean, simply install Xodo PDF from Microsoft Store and scroll a medium sized PDF with a touchscreen device (so that you can well notice the smoothness difference)

It will be great if devs can take a look and improve.
Thanks for investigating,
Prioritize smooth scrolling over immediate clarity

Re: Prioritize smooth scrolling over immediate clarity
Hi, Loki@99
what do you have set here?
If you set "Synchronous Page Rendering" to "Yes" the document will be slower to load initially but you should then see smoother scrolling.
Does that help?

Hi Paul,
I didn't notice much difference when switching Synchronous Page Rendering settings.
As I said, PDFXCE is not laggy. It's more a 30 FPS (PDFXCE) vs 60 FPS (Xodo PDF) thing so you have to compare the two programs scrolling with touch to notice the difference.

Hi, Loki@99
got it. The devs said they will look into this as time permits.
