Could someone please double-check me on this?
All of a sudden, the Save All function seems to be acting as Save As. I don't know when this started. If it cannot be replicated, then please give me an idea as to what is wrong locally.
Thanking you in advance.

Hello, PHK
Save all should operate as a "save as" action for any files which do not yet have a home on your PC, while any which do, would be treated with a normal "save" action. Files which do not yet have a home include any generated by conversion actions, such as dragging a word file into the Editor, recent scans, or new blank files.
Kind regards,

Yeah, thanks, I think that was one of the first things I learned about the product when I started to use it a few weeks ago.TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 10:48 pm Hello, PHK

So, perhaps a picture would help.
If this is not clear, I am sure you will let me know.

One further 'fact' that may be relevant or not: all the subject files were originally the product of the Combine Files function but were saved with the unique file names visible in the right panel of the graphic.
However, I see the same problem on 'old' files as well.

Hello, PHK
I cannot reproduce this when working purely with existing original files that have been opened normally and edited.
Can I please ask for a video recording of the process you use to reproduce this issue?

Re: BUG: Save All Acting As Save As
In attempting to prepare an example for video, Daniel, I have learned more about my situation. And I am hoping that this will provide you with a basis for replicating my experiencing without a video.
What seems to be going on is that the Save All function is operating on background versions of the app, not just the active one.
So, starting with a single version on PDF-XCE open, I dragged a tab out of its position alongside the other tabs, one of which was an unsaved document. Therefore, I have two versions of PDF-XCE open; the active one which has the single tab of the previously dragged tab and the other, or the original version, in the background.
Then, in this second, or new, but open version I add documents or in any other way modify existing documents and try to Save All, the app will actually try to apply the Save All function to documents in all the versions of the app, even those that are not active.
I really don't know how to make a video so I hope this is clear enough. And this performance of the Save All function may be as intended, i. e., across all versions whether active or not. But users may want to have the option of it only applying in the active version.

Re: BUG: Save All Acting As Save As
Hello, PHK
That would make sense, All "windows" of our software are connected, they are not independent instances or "versions" of the software, but simply another container for the same process. As such, any of the "all" functions like this should operate globally, so yes, In this case, I would say this is intended.
I will speak with the dev team and see if they would consider a "save all from active window" option in the future, but I cannot make any promises there.
Kind regards,

Yes, I did not understand the universality of the "All" and this has clarified that, thank you.TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 8:30 pm ...

I think that would be a useful refinement without being a "big deal," so thank you for raising it with the dev team.TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 8:30 pm I will speak with the dev team and see if they would consider a "save all from active window" option in the future, but I cannot make any promises there.
