Hi,
It's a feature request.
Feature description
Built-in internet search side pannel.
Why ?
PDFXCE supports text internet search but it opens results in internet browser in a new window.
Having the requested feature will allow user to still have focus on the document.
Additional info
It's available in Microsoft Office
Some users may want to open the search result in a browser so a button to open externally will be great.
Like this
It's not available in Micosoft Office side pannel browser. Simply a mockup I made.
Btw, I noticed a minor UI bug with the Internet Search By: right click context menu when shortcuts are disabled in Customize Toolbars
For the fix, I think that simply adding a space after "By" will fix it.
- Before : "Internet Search By:"
- After : "Internet Search By :"
Thanks for considering this,
Built-in internet search side pannel SOLVED

Re: Built-in internet search side pannel
Hello Loki@99,
That would require us either to embed a browser frame inside the Editor or develop our own. Neither of which is idea or part of the main focus of our Editor.
So while I will pass your suggestion to our dev team - I do not expect this to be approved.
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hello,
Just a clarification and response from the Dev team here. On Stefan's comment about embedding a browser, we do already offer one (it is used for accessing the DocuSign features). However, the embedded browser has notable restrictions on use, and repurposing it to other functions, such as an inbuilt web-search is not at this time something we plan to offer.
Perhaps this will change in the future, but for now I am afraid that this request has been rejected.

Re: Built-in internet search side pannel
Hi all,
Thanks for your replies.
It's no big deal.
I just found that Microsoft Office feature convenient but there are more important PDFXCE things to fix/improve.
Thanks for passing the minor UI to fix mentioned in this topic.
