PDF file failed to open

Post by Don Schmidt »

I attempted to access a PDF file from a financial institution which failed to open. PDF Viewer Pro runs up to 100% and then get the following Error Report.

Error opening document. "C:\Documents and settings\Don\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\RPQV01AN\Show Statement [1].htm":Error [PDF Structure 40]: Invalid file format.

I have Windows XP SP2, all the updates, PDF Viewer Pro ver 2.0 Build 36, IE 6.

Hi,

Did you note document extension? Looks like this is an html document -instead of pdf file.

If in fact this is a pdf document - please zip and post/send to us for investigation.

The problem is I don't think I have the document. When I click on the link for the file it automatically brings up PDF Viewer Pro, it runs until the 100% is displayed, then the error message. I click the error message and all is gone from the monitor screen. :?:

I'm begining to think it's the financial institution that has the problem and not PDF Viewer Pro for there is no problems with other PDF files from various sources. Let me question them before you folks expend more time on this.

I'll get back to you after contacting the "F.I.".

Had the same problem last week... Three PDF files arrived to my e-mail box as attachments and I tried to access them from MS Outlook. PDF-XChange Viewer failed to open them (first time ever, BTW) and returned a message about wrong file format.
The same attachments were openable at machines with Adobe Acrobat Reader installed so I have no doubts the documents were PDFs.
I have the files, but I can't distribute them as they are classified...

regards

Just to let the visitors know, I've been contacted by Tracker Support that they were able to reproduce my problem and it will be fixed in build 037.

Many thanks Tracker Support Team. :!:
