The file probably contains some features only supported by Adobe Reader 8.0 and not yet implemented in PDF-XChange Viewer. As the dialogue suggests, if you wish to view the file, open it in Adobe Reader.

Edit: In fact, if you click on OK the file opens fine in PDF-XChange. However, it doesn't give you the warning message that you get if you open it in Adobe Reader 7, advising you to print the form as any data entered cannot be saved.

I was able to fill in form fields and save a copy from PDF-XChange Beta 037.

Hi

I opened the file with build 36 OK. I just thought that the error message may be of interest to others.

The error message did seem a little bizarre to me. PDF-Xchange Viewer suggesting that the user needed to have Adobe Reader to open a PDF file. Surely it would be better to suggest that a new version of PDF-Xchange Viewer may be required. (even if one didn't yet exist?)

Generally the people at Tracker Software always seem to be ahead of the game.

Similar error mensage with Foxit. A standard perhaps.

The button to highlight all form fieds doesn't work! (ok in adobe+foxit).

Ah, so the error message must be generated by the PDF file, must be something to do with it being a form?
