Case 1
- Turning the mouse wheel while holding down the Ctrl key changes the Zoom factor. On the other hand, the size of Sticky Notes is not affected by the Zoom factor of the screen and remains constant. Therefore, if you move the mouse pointer to around the right side of the Sticky Notes and then zoom out using Ctrl+Wheel, the mouse pointer and the sticky will overlap somewhere unless you move the mouse pointer.
Now, here is the main point. If the mouse pointer and Sticky Notes have overlaped and you continue to turning the wheel while hold down the Ctrl key, I noticed that the page will change. In other words, although the user is only supposed to be changing the magnification of the page by Ctrl+wheel operation, the screen may suddenly switch to another page.
The verification procedure in the video is as follows.
- Set the page layout to non-continuous single page and the Zoom factor to Page Fit.
- Move the mouse pointer to the right of Sticky Notes.
- When trying to zoom out using Ctrl+Wheel, the page changes unintentionally.
- When the mouse pointer is over Sticky Notes and the mouse wheel is turned (without pressing the Ctrl key), the page changes. If the mouse pointer is not moved at all during the series of operations, I noticed that the Zoom factor cannot be changed by Ctrl+Wheel on the page after the page is changed. Note that it is almost impossible to keep the mouse pointer position fixed with a normal mouse, so this issue is limited to cases in which a trackball or similar device is used to control the mouse pointer. Compared to the behavior in case 1, this behavior seems even more surprising, but is this intended by the developer?
The verification procedure in the video is as follows.
- Set the page layout to non-continuous single page and the Zoom factor to Page Fit.
- Move the mouse pointer over the Sticky Notes. Note that the mouse pointer is not moved at all in subsequent operations.
- Use the mouse wheel to change pages.
- After the page has been changed, Ctrl + wheel operation does not change the zoom factor.
I hesitate to post a series of posts (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th) in succession, but the capacity of my brain register is extremely limited, so please forgive me somehow.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message.
