I hope it is not unfair for me to infer that PDF-Xchange has concluded that beta testing by power users is not productive. I also hope that it is not unfair for me to wonder if some recent build versions have suffered from the absence of non-employee or consultant user beta testing.
But it does seem possible that exposing anticipated new build versions to known discreet and discrete users who have demonstrated reasonably high levels of understanding of the application's functions for a short pre-realease period might save the company some embarrassment, user confusion, and erosion of product credibility. Of course, not all the myriad functions of PDF-XCE are used by the client base. For instance, architects and engineers might not have interest in the same functions as legal document handlers. But this Forum should give some indications of who is interested in what and those users might serve as a useful feedback community at the slight cost of a few weeks of delay of build version rollouts. We might be happy to trade off slight release delays for the assurance of more bulletproof build versions. Selected beta testers would serve voluntarily and probably would be signers of non-disclosure agreements.
Just a thought.
