SCALE

Post by Mirada2000 »

Hello, with the new version I have a problem with the footage, the footage is done correctly, but as soon as I redo a footage without modifying the scale, I modify the color, this modifies the scale of the current zone and the previous ones ! !

Capture d'écran 2024-09-25 091052.png
Capture d'écran 2024-09-25 091058.png
This modifies my scales as soon as I change the color of the zone or I change to a new zone.

It would also be good if we could choose to include all the common scales (cm or inches) by default, because we have to create them ourselves.

Step =
I make a scale with ctrl+c
I choose an area say with red fill
I trace
Then the area is correct
Then I change color to create a blue area
The ladder has jumped
And even the red zone has a bad scale

Hello, Mirada2000

Just to be sure, are you running the current latest release (build 389)? If not, please update now, and see if the issue persists. So far I cannot reproduce what you describe, and it sounds like Stefan and the rest of the Support team reached the same conclusion. If you can reproduce the issue after updating to build 389, I will need to ask for either the screenshots Stefan requested, showing exactly which steps you are taking, or if possible, a video showing the full process for us.

Hello, I did an update, and same problem, here is the video
https://we.tl/t-Pj2c3zXNjX

The scaling systematically returns to the default one

The update created black screens on all my screens and I had to restart :D

Hi Mirada2000,

I checked your video and it was quite blurry.

As a tip, you can use Licecap to record high quality GIF with very low file size and directly upload the GIF here by copy-paste or upload action.

The program is very lightweight and easy to use as you only resize its window and click record

In order to have smooth GIF, simply set the Max FPS to 30

Edit :
@Tracker Support

I'm not in architecture field and not related but after checking Mirada2000 video I noticed something. Wouldn't it make sense to make the default blending mode of Area tool set to multiply or reduce the opacity so that the info bellow the area higlight isn't hidden in PDFXCE?

I noticed that it's the area tool behavior in Drawboard PDF and PDF Annotator which is certainly more convenient.

PDF Annotator - It also displays the area value value on top (like Drawboard PDF

Hello Mirada2000,

You are changing between different styles for the area tool in that clip, and yes - each style can have it's own scaling factor, so do make sure that you set your desired one as your default and then apply the default style as reported e.g. here:

On the other hand, I don't see any interest in this because a document is rarely on several different scales.

Hello, I always block, to have the same scale everywhere whatever the color. I have to keep the same color or have to manually change the scale.

Hello Mirada2000,

You can technically create different presets for your tool - several with the same colour but with different scaling factors.
Or was your above post requesting something different?

Stefan

I would like the scale to be taken for all colors.
How to do for once the scale set it to be the default for the entire session on this document.

Hello Mirada2000,

There is currently no way to set a document (or page) scaling factor and then have all tools use that. So you would need to be changing it as needed.

Stefan

Selecting multiple scales using Shift and Crtl would be a great addition.

Paul,

We need something to manage the scales. Deleting them one by one is a pain. Every time you delete one the cursor jumps all the way to the top and you have to scroll down to delete the next one.

Hello lev,

I saw the discussion Paul had with our devs, and the rejection came from them, so I am afraid that for now there will be no changes with this feature. Those presets should not normally need to be adjusted daily, so while it is inconvenient to remove several one by one - it should not be a task that takes a significant amount of time each day.

Kind regards,
Stefan

+1 vote.

I've given up on trying to keep the dimension menu in order. It's hundreds of lines long for me and pretty useless searching through it now - so I make a new scale each time - compounding the problem. All that's needed is a way to multi-select in the manage dialog. Each delete action is multiple steps:

Hello, Everyone

I have some great news for all of you, we have managed to convince the Devs this is a necessary set of changes, and a ticket has been made. As per usual, I cannot promise a timeline, but here is the internal ticket number:

#7253: FR: Add measurement presets organization tools
And here are a few cliffnotes on what specifically we aim to see offered in this improvement:
1. Manual Re-ordering
2. Manual "grouping" (This one is "in the air", but I am hopeful and made sure it was on the ticket)
3. Multi-select, for easier organization and deletion when necessary.
