When users select the Split Pages tool, a very useful window opens that provides the sub-options and a preview window that looks in part like this:
Would it be possible to have the same sort of window for the Guidelines tool? I would like to be able to visualize and edit the placement of Guidelines the way one can in Split Pages.
Thanking you in advance for your kind consideration of this question.

Re: FR: Guidelines Function Window Like Split Pages
Hi, PHK
I asked the dev team but they feel that this is too much for guides, too specific. I am afraid they are not supportive of the suggestion, but they said they will improve the Guide Line functionality by adding copy/paste/duplicate of selected GL.
I hope that helps

It does! But I am a bit surprised as I got the impression the above was not on the cards three weeks ago when I suggested just such functionality.Paul - Tracker Supp wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 7:22 pm ...

Let's hope my function window proposal gets the same delayed green light. I would think your colleagues in UI could appreciate the benefits of having consistent-looking function interfaces across similar tools.TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 6:44 pm ...
I am afraid that at this time, the request has been rejected. As you already have the option of dragging from the ruler at all times, there is no need for such specific handling to be added.

Re: FR: Guidelines Function Window Like Split Pages
Hello, PHK
I think youll find we discussed shortly after that post that a ticket was made separate from our discussion, which we left active on the hopes that it would be accepted later on. It seems that hope worked out.
In some cases, a rejected feature is just mistimed when there is no one able to investigate if its even viable to implement. These past few weeks have been very busy, and with summer vacations, a little short staffed as well.
We need to reject some things just because they are not something that will be able to see a high enough priority at that moment. It is better to say it wont come, and then reconsider when it comes up next, than it is to say "sure thing, its on its way" and then have it pushed back for the next 5 years because it was assigned a low priority ticket number.
Kind regards,

Thanks, Daniel. I got the impression it was more remote than it now seems to be and it sort-of dropped off my mental expectations list. But I will welcome it whenever it comes.TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 10:58 pm ...

I fully respect that it is the company's responsibility to manage its resources, product development and other. I hope that my, and others', suggestions are understood to be meant as constructive for the application, not just selfish bleats for individual users such as myself.
