Suggestion: list bookmark (link annotation) actions in Properties / Actions

Post by zarkogajic »

Hi Support,

Am not sure if the following has been suggested already, so here goes:

To check/see bookmark actions one needs to:
1. Activate the Properties pane, 2. Select the bookmark, 3. Click the "..." for "mouse up", 4. Look at actions in the "Edit Actions List"...

How about:

List all bookmark actions under Actions:

If more easy: the list can be simple (one row per action) - to quickly preview action properties ...

p.s.
Same suggestion for link annotations.

Hi, zarkogajic

I have passed the request on to the Dev team and we will let you know what they decide.

Hi, Zarkogajic,

the dev's comment was that typically there is only 1 action, so rather than displaying a list there we added a minor improvement here for the case when the bookmark/link/field/page has more than one action.

Hi Paul,

Thanks.

My idea was not driven by "what number of actions" (and yes, I agree: in most cases only one), but what that action does in more details, like "goto page 5 (inherit zoom)".

Hi, zarkogajic

got it, ultimately what gets done here will; be at the devs discretion, they are aware of the discussion and we will have to wait and see what they deliver!

+1

My workflow involves editing bookmarks with wrong pages so having that feature will speed up the process.

What I do now is :
1. Input the correct page number in page navigation Toolbar
2. Select the bookmark to fix in bookmark panel
3. Right click on the bookmark and use Set destination feature

Being able to directly edit page number destination from bookmarks properties will be very convenient.

Hi, loki@99

it seems there may have been some misunderstanding in this case. I was just told that the development team rejected this request months ago.

I sincerely apologize, it seems I have made a mistake here. The dev are not adding this.

sorry

Hi Support,

I'm reopening this request - as I'm not sure if devs denied what I asked for or what Loki@99 asked.

So: repeating my idea: list link action properties in properties pane (as in first post in this topic).

The idea behind: I'm auditing links and want / need to check that all XYZ links "inherit zoom". Using the links pane I select a link and just check if Properties / actions / mouse up states "inherit zoom" (no need to click "...").
