custom keyboard shortcuts not working

I assigned typewriter as below but when I press the shortcut, it still opens the default (thumbnails).

that is unexpected. It is supposed to report a conflict:

May I ask you to export your settings to file and send them to support@pdf-xchange.com with a cross reference to this thread and I will take a look?

Addendum: Also - are you current? 10.4.1.389 is current and Help then Check for Updates likely the easiest approach to updating.

I am keen to hear if this is happening in 10.4.1.389.

Problem confirmed with build 389, and also with earlier builds (tested back to build 371).

The conflict "Shortcut currently used by" is indeed reported, but that already used/existing shortcut has first to be 'manually' removed for the new one to work properly. Maybe that removal would be better done 'automatically' ?

I am not sure we will automatically remove the conflict, but what I was most interested in was that in tobiasrankin's screen shot there was no conflict reported.

I suppose that tobiasrankin's screenshot was taken after the shortcut had been assigned.
At that time the warning has gone.

I don't believe we could make it a fully automatic process, as some actions are mutually exclusive with when they can be used, and often people will want to have two actions bound to the same keypress for use like that (for example, the "text" alignment and "object" alignment tools should have no situations where they would both be active). Removing that ability would be troublesome for users seeking that handling.

I will forward the idea that when a conflict is detected, we offer a "quick remove" action that resolves the conflict by removing the shortcut from the other tool with a manual handling. That should allow us to offer the best of both worlds.

Hey I solved the problem but just manually deleting the shortcut from thumbnails first. No problem I am happy to do this.
