Enhancing PDF-XChange Editor Plugin: Supporting Unicode for Improved Compatibility

I use PDF-XChange Editor 10.4.3.391 plugin in certain browsers (firefox legacy) to open PDF files directly within the browser. It works well, except when the PDF file names contain Chinese characters, leading to failures and error messages like "Error [AFSLib]: Invalid or unsupported protocol scheme."
Although this issue might not affect many users, adding support for Unicode in such cases would be highly beneficial. Thank you for considering this enhancement.

I am sorry to say that at this time, changes in this area are not a priority, as the only applicable case is for deprecated versions of browsers, mostly over 5 years old.

On the other hand, I do have some good news for you. We have a (secret) project in the works, which may help with this particular case once it comes around. It is still quite a ways out from implementation, so I cannot offer any more details, but the dev team did hint that it could help here when we were discussing your report.
