Form fields gridlock align to other form fields

I am struggling with making form fields lock to grids...

any tips?

In this example it locks to the other form field VERTICALLY, but NOT HORIZONTALLY


Maybe form fields only align horizontally to base content, but not other form fields?

"grid" seems to just be visual, it doesn't seem to actually align the form fields to the gridlines.

Hello MedBooster,

Yes - fields will not snap to each other, but you can e.g. create guides and then stamp your fields to those guides.
Alternatively - you can create the fields, resize them and then with more than one selected you can arrange and distribute them in height and width:
