I like to leave a lot of tabs open. Is there a limit to the number of open tabs I can have?
I would like a way to copy the list of open tabs into a text file.
I know I can use "show sorted tabs," although it won't give me a text file. I could take a snapshot of its listing.
When you sort by name though, I can't see I've gotten all the tabs that are open! Why? Because the order of the tabs as opened is not reflected by the ordering of Show Sorted Tabs. We need a Preference added to Show Tabs in tab-opened order!
In my case this morning I have 32 tabs open, and the sorted list also shows 32 tabs. But I had to manually count the tabs across the top in order to confirm I had all 32 of them listed that were listed in Show Sorted Tabs, which, by the way, I also had to count for the opposite reason. Whenever I have to manually count something, I know I've moved past the design parameters of the program.
What happens if the list is over the size of the displayable vertical space? Will the list scroll as I move down near the bottom of the page? Or will it replicate the remaining listing on successive panes to the right?
Thanks,
copy listing of all open tabs to a text file

Re: copy listing of all open tabs to a text file
Hi, needsleep
The only limit on the number of opened documents comes from your computer hardware, there are no limits to this number within the 64 bit version of our software, and even the 32-bit version should be able to open more tabs than any human can reliably navigate.
I am afraid that we do not offer a method to copy the currently opened file names into a text file, and I am struggling to see the use-case for a feature like this. Beyond recording it for easier re-opening in the future (in which case, we offer the "sessions" function that should be more than enough), I cannot figure out why you would need to do this.
Could you please check this link here to see if the Sessions option will work for you needs. https://help.pdf-xchange.com/pdfxe ... ns_ed.html
If it will not, please elaborate on why you need such a function, so we can see if there is a better option, or seriously consider this request.
Kind regards,

Re: copy listing of all open tabs to a text file
Just moved my license to a new computer and the session feature (that I wasn't aware of) has been immensely useful for this! Even better than going through a text file list, when importing the session you can even point to new locations of files.TrackerSupp-Daniel wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 7:14 pm I am afraid that we do not offer a method to copy the currently opened file names into a text file, and I am struggling to see the use-case for a feature like this.
