PDF-XChange Viewer KEEPS deleting Bookmarks after Save

This is so frustrating. This software(Pro) is simply unreliable creating bookmarks.

I have a document bookmarks are laid out as follows:

1. Header 1
-> 1.1 Sub-Header 1
-----> 1.1.1 Sub-Header 2
-----> 1.1.2 Sub-Header 2
-----> 1.1.3 Sub-Header 2

When I save (or Save as Copy) it randomly deletes bookmarks so you end up with

1. Header 1
-> 1.1 Sub-Header 1
-----> 1.1.3 Sub-Header 2

Always the 3rd sub category. I bought this last night and within 1 night it has done this no less than 5 times! Has anyone else experienced this bug (or have solutions)?

I can even leave the document open, use Save as Copy. I open the copy and there gone! Yet look at the XChange Viewer... there still there. Below is the current PDF. Not section 4.3. No matter how many times you save it, they are now gone.

Did you edit bookmarks into the document?

Can you send us documents with whole bookmark tree and with 'corrupted' one ?

I originally used the auto Bookmark creating in the ToolKit but they made a bit of a mess. I have removed/added pages in the PDF's and the Bookmarks that disappear are always ones that I have created by hand (from memory).

I cant post this document online, its a clients document. I can send it directly to you if you give me an email addess to send it to.

I should point out, last night I ended up re-creating them 1 at a time then saving, create next 1 then save and I eventually got it saved. However, more modifications this morning and they disappeared again.

PDF contains 166 pages. It is 2 PDF's merged, both created with the XChange PDF driver. Pages have been added/removed as errors have been found (in master document).

Problem is, as soon as I close the document in XChange Viewer, I'll lose the 2 links which means I'll be send u 2 identical documents.

Got document. Can you say me which modification did you made into the document before saving? (bookmarks editing, deletion of pages, etc.)

1. Inserted replacement Section 4.2 from other PDF after current section 4.2 (made it page 18)
2. Old Section 4.2 was deleted (Page 17)
3. Inserted replacement Section 4.3 from other PDF after current 4.3 (made it page 20)
4. Old Section 4.3 was deleted (Page 19)

Noticed 4.3 section had lost 4.3.1-4.3.4 (not sure if that was from last nights save though)

5. Fixed (not replaced) bookmark 4.2 to point to new page
6. Fixed (not replaced) bookmark 4.3 to point to new page
7. Inserted Bookmarks by hand (using CTRL+SHIFT+B) for 4.3.1-4.3.4
8. Saved as Copy

Opened the copy as noticed that links 4.3.1 and 4.3.2 have disappeared in copy. However, inside XChange they are still there and working (as image shows). However, close document (saving) the next time its opened they are gone also.

Added them again, saving after each bookmark creation and they seem to have now stayed. But this was true for links last night that kept disappearing last night in section 13 (also 3 level down Bookmarks).

I think modifying existing bookmarks does not seem to cause it, I think its creating new ones using CTRL+SHIFT+B that are disappearing?

OK, Just happened again. Think I can give more acurate info.

Noticed 4.1.2 and 4.1.3 was missing. Added them again using CTRL+SHIFT+B and adjusted the position (right-clicking the bookmark and seleting Actions). Each link that was added was moved (drag/drop) into correct place to make it in order.

Saved document. I then lost 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 (4.1.3 was there).

Can you try to reproduce the trouble using latest available build? (I cannot reproduce trouble at all here with latest code I have)

I've managed to get the clients document finished. Perhaps its a glitch with the file itself. I will keep you posted if other documents also start showing the symptoms or more info comes available. Thanks for taking a look anyway.
