Currently the use is extremely modest, because the marking pen creates an unsightly line.
Softer lines are desirable.
Further improvements would also be possible with a new functionality: Staying at the end of a drawn line automatically leads to straightening. In addition, the user should be able to change the end position (angle to the starting point) as long as the pen has not yet been lifted.
Notes:
1: Was created by simple point placement
2,4: line from left to right
3: line from right to left
Pen: Microsoft Surface Pen

Most people we have heard of actually want the pencil tool to smooth their original input less: viewtopic.php?p=153812#p153812
If you take a look at the above topic - you will find ways to control that smoothing level, but if you are drawing organic chemistry formulas - it might be better if you use e.g. the Line tool for the double bonds rather than the pencil tool. Then you can guarantee that you will have straight lines. You can also use the polyline or polygon tools for the outer hexagon.
E.g. - I created this with just one polygon shape and three straight lines.

Kind regards,

Maybe where could be setting added for changing the smoothness of the pencil to the UI, so we can change it, depending on the situation or an a per pencil base.
Also, the weird pencel artifacts are still there, could there be an option to disable pressure sensitivity for all/some/one pen/pen-type. So I could set, that a marker is not using pressure sensitivity?

In the "width profile" dropdown, simply choose any option that is not "auto" and you will disable use of pressure sensitivity.
