I have used PDF XChange for years. Last week I had to reinstall Windows. After reinstall, I updated PDF Xchange to the latest version. I also use Dropbox on my computer. I create reports on a notepad for clients I work for and then scan and send them the reports as PDFs. Here is the problem. When I scan a report, it creates a PDF in a location I designate. Once I click on it and open it in PDF Xchange, I do a "Save As" since I usually have to rename it and put it in different locations based on the client. I sometimes create new folders (with the client's name). All this works fine...apparently.
But when I go to those folders and files in Windows Explorer they are not there. They are not updating in Dropbox. I can do the same thing (create a file and a folder) in Word and Excel and save them and they show up with no problem. Any folder I create in Dropbox online shows up in my computer. Any folder I create in Explorer shows up in Dropbox online. But the PDFs I save in PDF Xchange do not show up. It's as if they were never saved. But I can close the file in PDF Xchange and open it right back up in PDF Xchange. But there is no folder or file in Explorer. Any ideas what is going on here? I never had this happen in the past.
I just did an update with PDF Xchange via their updater and it didn't help. Still nothing different. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi ryknow23
thanks for the post and report.
Then a screen shot of that same location in Windows file Explorer where the files are missing please?
thanks for the post and report.
Can we get a screen shot of the Save As dialogue after you have created the new location and are ready to hit "Save":

Re: Folders and Files Created Not Showing Up
Here is the screenshot of the folder I created (Smith) and have yet to open. But the file is already renamed and ready to be saved.
Here is the screenshot of it ready to save in the Smith folder.
Here is the screenshot of Explorer after the file has been saved in the Smith folder.
As you can see there is no Smith folder showing in Explorer. If I do the same process in Word or Excel, the file shows up in Explorer with no problem. Any idea what might be causing this to happen? You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: Folders and Files Created Not Showing Up
I checked again this morning and I can see no Smith folder through Explorer but I can see it through PDF Xchange. The files I saved yesterday are not visible through Explorer but are there if I view them through a Save As in PDF Xchange. Here are screenshots of Explorer and PDF Xchange this morning.

Is it possible that it is not actually printing a PDF? I can see the folders and PDFs that are saved through PDF Xchange when I do a Save As. But no other program shows these folders or PDFs that I have saved.

***UPDATE***
One thing I have discovered is the following:
I use Dropbox on my computer. So there is a Dropbox folder in Explorer. When I create the folders and files with PDF Xchange anywhere in the Dropbox folder, they do not show up in Explorer. However, when I create them outside of the Dropbox folder and just on my D drive, they do show up in Explorer. So it is very strange in this way.
Any ideas on what might be causing this or what to do to fix it?

I have also discovered that when I sign into Dropbox and make a place to save a file and then save it that it does show up in Explorer. But if I just use the Browse button it does not. Why is that? Seems like it is making it more difficult for the user. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Folders and Files Created Not Showing Up
Hi,
I do not have experience with Dropbox, but I suppose it works similar to OneDrive: you have a local copy of your files on the hard drive of your computer and you have a remote copy in the cloud. Normally there is a synchronization of files and folders in both directions.
Now, when you save a file locally it may not be immediately be visible in the cloud environment and vice/versa. Synchronization might take a while or might not work for one reason or an other. I think this is what happens when you do not see your folders and files showing up. Always make sure to use and/or verify the correct environment : local or cloud.
Kind regards.
EDIT: If you say "solved", it makes me curious about the solution.
