Pointer visibility

Post by mmckaibab »

When working with documents, the mouse pointer is very difficult to locate, especially when the document contains a lot of text. Is there any way to make the pointer more visible?

Hello mmckaibab,

Welcome to our forums!
Please take a look under Preferences (Ctrl + K) -> Accessibility and you will see the options to make those larger:

Hello Stefan and mmckaibab,

As I recently reported in the following topic, the settings Stefan presents do not appear to be working at this time. Also, according to Stefan's response in that topic, the said setting will be removed in the next build.

  • Since build 360, setting "Cursors Size" in Accessibility category of Preferences dialog seems to be no longer reflected

If mmckaibab is referring to the text cursor, there is currently no way to adjust the size or width of the text cursor. Related to what I recently reported in the following topic, the text cursor is currently always one pixel wide regardless of monitor scaling, which makes it very difficult to see on high DPI monitors where the scaling is set high.

  • On high scaling displays, text cursor is difficult to see in text comments with border width of 0 pt and no fill color

Hello rakunavi,

Apologies - at the back of my mind there was a thought that we are using the system cursors now, but then I did find that accessibility option again, and that took precedence!

@mmckaibab - Rakunavi is indeed correct, so please do take a look at that other topic and the advise offered there!

Kind regards,
Stefan
