shortcut not working for strike through

Post by yjhan10 »

I am currently using PDF Xchange Editor Plus version 9.5, build 366.0

I want to use the shortcut for strikethrough tool.
I checked "Customize toolbars - Command properties" and the shortcut "Ctrl+Alt+S" is assigned already for the strikethrough tool.
However the shortcut is not working even through there is nothing else that uses the shortcut key. what would be the problem? please help

Hi, yjhan10

I see that there are a few different "Strike out" tools available:

I see the same behaviour as you. Out of interest I removed the keyboard shortcuts from the one you used, cmd.textStyle.strikeOut and used it with cmd.textsel.addStrikeout and it worked on the base content of our EULA PDF:

which leads me to ask why there are different tools for this. I suspect it may be related to the type of text selected, base content, annotations etc. I will ask the devs why this is and how to use them and let you know what they say.

What "kind" of text are you looking to use this on? Annotations (comments) or "Base Content"?
