I try to get the Runtool bookmarksFromTextFile to work.
The call: "C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Tools\PDFXTools.exe" /Runtool: "pdft.tool.bookmarksFromTextFile"
works. (But opens a selection dialogue for specifying the files).
I'd like to specify the needed pdf and text files as arguments to the tool and tried this:
"C:\Program Files\Tracker Software\PDF Tools\PDFXTools.exe" /Runtool: "pdft.tool.bookmarksFromTextFile" "L:\exampledir\result\project_results_8.2.1.2_Demography_v1_20250217.pdf" "L:\exampledir\result\TOC_project_results_8.2.1.2_Demography_v1_20250217.txt"
However this does not work (and I can't find any error message and /Log:full "L:\exampledir\result\PDTOOLSlog.log" does not work as well)
Can you help me to get the call to work?
That would be very kind!
Stefanie
P.S. My company has PDF-Tools Version 10.4.4, build 392 installed

Re: Runtool bookmarksFromTextFile in CMD
Hello Sulak,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to specify a bookmarks data source file via the command line.
You can only specify a PDF document; afterward, you must select the TXT bookmarks file through the Open Files dialog. Alternatively, you can predefine the file or folder using the PDF Tools graphical interface.
Best regards,
