FR: Saving Tool Settings Option - Add Page Guidelines

Post by PHK »

Many tools already have the option for the user to save and use tool settings. It is in the lower left of the tool window frame. And I know consideration is being given to providing this facility to more of the portfolio of tools. This request is to have the Settings option in the Add Page Guidelines tool, too.

Thanking you in advance for consideration of this request.

Is that the same as this request? viewtopic.php?p=188798#p188798

If so, I think you can see there is a groundswell of support. Let's make it happen!
Features I really want:
1. Fully customizable toolbars: https://forum.tracker-software.com/viewtopic.php?p=167585
2. Ability to draw curved lines: https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?p=178335

Yes, it is exactly. I use the guides very much the way you do, mCHSNUg5Pz8cPap.

Since it is in our work pool and we have several requests regarding this feature, it will be implemented at some point.

Regards.

Thanks for getting some focus on this suggestion.

In the meantime, I am using a work-around that isn't too horrible: I have saved a few of my favorite Guideline configurations on otherwise blank pages in a sort-of library file. When needed, I use the newish (rolled out in 393) abilities to copy, paste, and duplicate Guidelines to replicate them from the library file to the working document. It's about the same as having the tool Options.

Hello, PHK

I am very glad to hear that you have found a workable solution in the meantime!

(Also, mostly for my own sake and organization, I am copying the ticket number over to this thread:
RT#6813: FR: Presets for "Add page guides" dialog)

Hopefully we can see this come along soon, but it is up to the Dev team to prioritize these items, for now I have done all I can.
