After using Snapshot tool or equivalent, enabling Zoom In/Out tool temporarily disables mouse button on page view

Post by rakunavi »

Hello all,

After selecting an area with a tool such as the Snapshot tool and then activating the Zoom In/Out tool, I have noticed that the left and right mouse buttons temporarily stop functioning on the page view. Once outside of the page view, the buttons will work again, and selecting the Hand tool, etc. will return them to normal.

The verification procedure is shown below.

  1. Select an area with the Snapshot Tool, Select Page Region Tool, etc.
  2. Activate the Zoom In/Out tool. It can be activated from either the context menu or the Ribbon.
  3. Press the left or right mouse button on the page view to confirm that it is no longer functional.

The capture software used (ScreenToGif) displays a yellow circle around the mouse cursor when the left mouse button is clicked
and a red circle when the right mouse button is clicked, so you can tell which mouse button was clicked just by looking at the screen.
It does not seem to be working correctly to me, what do you think?

Thank you for taking the time to read this message.

Best regards,
rakunavi

Hello, rakunavi

Thank you for the post, I have reproduced this and passed it along to the Dev team for review. I agree, this does not seem to be correct, and is likely an odd interaction with the selection method which is in place from the snapshot tool. The same happens with the "select region tools as well.

And I got a very quick reply! The Dev team has confirmed this is a known issue which will be fixed in the next release.
