Currently, backgrounds are assigned to pages as ranges. Because of this, in order to remove the background of a single page included in a range, you first have to figure out which range it belongs to, and then change the pages covered by the range in one of two ways: select all pages in the range except for those pages that you want to exclude from the range (there is no easy way to do this, because there is no corresponding option in the Select Pages list), or (even less convenient) enter the range editing mode and manually enter new ranges of the edited range as text.
Is there an option to use only "single-page ranges", or even use the Page Properties panel to change the background? Or improve the current tool by taking the conditional formatting range methods of Microsoft Excel / LibreOffice Calc / Google Sheet as a guide. They also use ranges, but only of table grid cells, not thumbnails grid cells, and changing the assigned ranges in them does not cause such problems with either understanding the principle of operation or with use.
How to avoid using ranges when adding backgrounds to pages?

Re: How to avoid using ranges when adding backgrounds to pages?
Hello Jensen Head,
You should be able to select the Background of a page as a base content item, so probably the quickest way to remove it from just one page is to select it with the "Select Objects" tool and then hit the delete key?
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: How to avoid using ranges when adding backgrounds to pages?
Yes, indeed, backgrounds are added to pages as a "Path" object inside an "XForm" container nested inside a "Container <Artifact>: (Form)" container. Removing it removes the set background of the corresponding page. Thanks for pointing out this workaround!
Although, of course, I would prefer to see a single interface for adding, editing and removing backgrounds.

Hello Jason Head,
If the background was created with the Editor you will be able to Manage it, and there you can exclude the page that does not require this background.
For instance if you want to remove it for page 3 from a range 1-15 you can set it something like this:
