Hey everybody,
to sign with pdf-tool a document with more than one pages I use the clickbox "to last page".
But it creates only on one page the signatur.
Is it a bug?

Re: sign document multiple pages
Hello Thomas.Seufert,
Welcome to our forums. That checkbox means that the signature will be added to the last page of the document only, and not that it would be added to all pages up to the last one!
Digital signatures require that you save the file at the moment of signing, so it's not really possible to place the same digital signature on all pages (and it also does not make much sense). It would be better if you e.g. add a visual representation of a signature as say a watermark to all of your pages, and then perform ONE digital signing as a last step.
Kind regards,
Stefan

Re: sign document multiple pages
Hello all,
It's a pity, but in an earlier version this was already possible.
Especially as the designation (at least in German) "bis zum Ende" means that every page is signed up to the last page.
Perhaps it can be included in a next version. For example, "from page 2" "to the end".
It makes sense to sign a multi-page document on all pages.
For example, multi-page technical drawings or parts lists that are often used for production in different areas.
This way, the approved signatures are visible on all pages.

Re: sign document multiple pages
Hello, Thomas.Seufert
PDF-Tools has never offered the ability to do this, If the German translation offered text which seemed to indicate that, I am sorry to say that it would have been a mistranslation. All translations are handled by volunteer translators, and cannot be perfectly verified, as we do not have native speakers of many languages available to do so.
If you do wish to accomplish this, the only way we have offered this functionality in the past, and now, is if the original document had a number of empty signature fields with the same name already in place. If you wish to accomplish this right now, a quick process would be to open the file in the Editor, open the "form" tab, and click the "signature" Field tool. Please this single signature field in the correct location on the first page in the document, then right click on it and choose "duplicate": After that, simpoly specify that you want to copy it to all pages: And then you can save the file.
Following this, you can either sign directly in the editor, or you can use PDF tools and ensure you choose the option to sign unsigned fields if they exist: The resultant signed document will only contain 1 singular "signature certificate" which is visually represented on every page of the document where you duplicated the original signature field, instead of needing a new separate signing action for every single page, overwhelming the file with a ridiculous amount of signatures.
I can certainly pass the idea along to the dev team to see if they think this would be a worthwhile addition to PDF-Tools, but I cannot make any promises that it will be implemented at this time.
Kind regards,

Re: sign document multiple pages
Hello, again Thomas.Seufert
With a little Persuasion, I was able to convince the Dev team that this would be a good addition to the PDF-Tools options. While I cannot promise exactly when or how it will be implemented, this was the mockup I gave them that convinced them of the usefulness. Hopefully we can see something along these lines in a future release!
While internal only, you can ask any member of the support team for an update by referencing this ticket number:

Re: sign document multiple pages
Has there been any updates to this?
To clarify where this would be needed, in my use case as an engineer - we produce "drawing sets" which occasionally require every sheet to be signed. Because each sheet has the same title block, the signature location between pages is unchanged. Some of these drawing packages may have 50 or more sheets, and in some instances they require an individual to sign in 2 (and sadly sometimes more) locations on every sheet, but regardless most of the time there are 3 or 4 different people signing every sheet. This can result in literal hours going through and signing every sheet then passing the file to the next poor sap.
Similarly, being able to select multiple files in the same way to apply a signature would be an amazing feature. Same deal, but some customers require each sheet to be separate/standalone for their document control system.
Is it a terrible way to accomplish this? Sure is. But that's the hand we're dealt.

Hello rncole,
Welcome to our forums.
The ticket from Daniel's post above has been marked as resolved in build 380 of our products, so if you have that or a newer build of PDF Tools - you should have that option available.
Kind regards,
Stefan

Ah hah! I didn't look hard enough - for those coming back into the thread, it has a separate button (Multi-place signature) under the Protect tab.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: sign document multiple pages
If you're dealing with a multi-page PDF and need to sign it, you’ve got a few options depending on what kind of signature you’re using (electronic or digital) and whether you want to sign just once or on every page.
Here’s what you can do:
1. Sign Once (Typically at the End)
Most people only sign once—usually on the last page. If you're using a digital signature, that single signature certifies the entire document and ensures no pages were changed afterward. Tools like Adobe Acrobat, Foxit, and online platforms handle this easily.
2. Sign on Every Page (If Required)
Some industries or workflows require a signature or initials on every page. In that case:
• Use a PDF editor to manually place your signature or initials on each page.
• Automate it if you're signing the same doc format repeatedly. Some tools let you create a signature stamp and apply it across all pages.
3. Digital Signature vs Electronic Signature
• Electronic Signature: Could just be an image or typed name—easy to apply multiple times.
• Digital Signature: Uses encryption and is usually applied once, certifying the document as a whole. Much more secure.
Tools That Help
If you're looking for a straightforward tool to sign multi-page documents (either once or on every page), [redacted] makes it easy. You can upload your document, sign it digitally or electronically, and even customize where the signature appears.
TL;DR:
You can sign just once or on every page, depending on what's needed. Use a good PDF tool—or check out [redacted] if you want something quick and secure.

Re: sign document multiple pages
Hello, miacharlos
Thank you for the write up. I should note that this seems to come a little unexpected, since our software does a multi-sign function, which rncole specifically mentioned in their last post. You can find this new tool on the protect tab: Beyond that, your post seems only to serve as a clear advertisement for the product which I have redacted, as such advertisements go strictly against our forum rules and regulations. For now, I have only redacted the mentions from your post, but future cases may result an account ban.
Kind regards,
