PDF-XChange Editor Plus v10.6.0 build 396 (Enhanced OCR) – 05 May 2025, 17:49
2. Operating System
Windows 11 (latest update)
3. Description
When you have two separate windows of the same PDF-XChange Editor Plus application open (each displaying a different document):
In Window A, highlight text with the Highlight tool.
Still in Window A, add a Sticky Note anchored to that highlight and leave its pop-up open.
Press Alt + Tab to switch to Window B—another window of the same PDF-XChange Editor Plus (not a different program).
Press Alt + Tab again to return to Window A.
The Sticky Note pop-up remains visible but loses keyboard focus in its text field. You must click inside the pop-up’s text area to resume typing.
Note: If you Alt + Tab to a window outside PDF-XChange Editor Plus (e.g., a browser or the note pad), the pop-up retains focus on return and the cursor remains active as expected.
4. Steps to Reproduce
Open two PDFs in separate windows of PDF-XChange Editor Plus.
In Window A, highlight a passage with the Highlight tool.
Still in Window A, add a Sticky Note, type into its pop-up, and keep it open.
Press Alt + Tab to switch to Window B of the same application.
Press Alt + Tab again to return to Window A:
Expected: The text cursor remains active in the pop-up’s text field.
Observed: The cursor disappears; a click inside the pop-up is required to reactivate focus.
---------------------------------------
(Optional) Alt + Tab to another application and back:
Expected & Observed: Focus remains in the pop-up without interruption.
---------------------------------------
5. Impact
Interrupts annotation workflow when working across multiple windows of the same program.
Requires an extra click every time you switch back to a PDF-XChange window.
I attached a video showing the issue.
Thank you very much for the assistance
