Problem with smart card / signature

Post by User4455 »

Dear Tracker-Team,

I have used a smart card for signing with PDF Xchange Editor before and it worked like a charm.

Now I had to buy a new smart card because the old one expired. The new one is based on a slightly different technology, I believe.

The new card has two certificates using RSA 2cc. One is for signing, one is for some special authorization.

Other programs do recognise the card and the certificate. I have just now sucessfully signed documents with this card with other software.

When trying to sign a document, I do see the two certificates to select in the "sign document"-dialoque. (I tried both, obviously).

When I click OK and select a place to save the resulting file, a windows security dialoque opens, saying:
"The requested operation cannot be performed with the smart card, or a different smart card is required for the operation."
I can click "OK", "Cancel" or "x" then, but the application reopens the same windows security dialogue.
Thus, I get trapped in an infinite loop and have to quit PDF XChange Editor by means of the Task Mananger.

I am aware of this:
viewtopic.php?p=189376&hilit=certificate#p189376
I did try to activate "... using Windows Crypto API", but it did not seem to change anything.

One more thing to note: My other software has been asking me for a "CAN" (beside the PIN), this is a six digit number printed on the card. I did not see any possibility to enter this in PDF XChange or the windows security dialoque, so this might be (part of) the problem.

Thus, I see two issues:
1. Do you see a way to get my card working?
2. infinite loop if card does not work.

Thank you for your kind attention!

Best regards, Sascha
