Hi there,
I had this error, as have many other people.
I uninstalled, reinstalled, updated my drivers, reset my PC, and even considered a clean install of Windows.
I had previously searched google for '[Solved] Scanner error: PXVLib Scanning process failed' and have decided to post the solution I found in case others do the same exact search.
My solution was simple, and it's surprising how we often forget to try the simplest of solutions.
Drum roll, please: Stick the USB cable into a different port.

Hi, venuslocal
you literally plugged the scanner into a different USB port and it started working where previously there were errors?

Yes.
The simplest solutions are often overlooked.
